Viv's Big Shave!

UpsideDowns supporter Viv Alborough is one committed superstar — she volunteered to sacrifice her hair to raise money to help provide speech and language therapy to Aotearoa’s kids with Down syndrome!

We started a Givealittle campaign and asked people to get behind Viv’s radical new hairstyle decision and help give a voice to Kiwi kids with Down syndrome. Supporters were quick to flock to the cause and donate generously. All that was left was for Viv to go under the clippers!

If you’re going to shave your hair, you may as well say goodbye in style — we were invited to the gorgeous Kafuné hair salon in Onehunga (thanks Lou) where wonderful hair artist Virginia took great care of Viv and her locks.

It might have been a chilly style for the middle of winter, but Viv’s new haircut was looking sleek and she managed to raise an amazing $1760 to help fund speech and language therapy for UpsideDown’s kids around the country. Our sincere gratitude goes out to Viv and all the generous people who helped make Viv’s Big Shave a success!
