A Day on the Green

The third annual Tee 21 Charity Golfing Day was a magnificent success with scores of enthusiastic golfers and their families raising much needed funds to provide speech and language therapy for Kiwi kids with Down syndrome.

Held on World Down Syndrome Day, 21 March, the event was masterminded by UpsideDowns members Mat and Lucinda Perry – Mat is well known in the golfing community through his enterprise, Golf in New Zealand, providing exceptional golf and travel experiences.

That experience was obvious on the day, as Mat organised an excellent Ambrose golf tournament at the magnificent Hastings Golf Club. While the teams enjoyed this world-class green, families were invited to enjoy bouncy castles, golf lessons for kids, and lots of delicious kai.

Once the golfing excitement wrapped up, attendees were treated to a fabulous prizegiving, dinner, and auction, with generous bids on some fantastic items raising even more crucial funds for UpsideDowns.

This fantastic event helped to raise over $20,000 for UpsideDowns, which will go towards providing speech and language therapy for Kiwi kids with Down syndrome across Aotearoa.

UpsideDowns Education trust would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the people who made this wonderful event possible: Mat and Lucinda Perry, for their tireless organising; +MORE Business Advisory & Accountancy, Natasha Bousfield Real Estate, and DUAL New Zealand underwriting agency for sponsoring the event; the team at Hastings Golf Club for dutifully hosting and teaching our mini-golfers the ropes; and everyone who attended and made it such an unforgettable day!
